Installation Instructions for Wheel Stops

 

Set Out and Positioning the Wheel Stops

Adhere to the AS/NZS 2890.1:2004 standard for positioning, measured from the front of the car park kerb or wall:

  1. Standard Kerb (up to 150mm high) 

    • Front In: 620mm

    • Rear In: 900mm

  2. High Kerb or Wall (greater than 150mm) 

    • Front In: 820mm

    • Rear In: 1100mm

 


 

Fixing Down Wheel Stops

 

Asphalt/Bitumen Surfaces

  1. Set out the wheel stop according to the standards above.

  2. Use our 300mm x 12mm galvanised asphalt spikes (three fixings per wheel stop).

Asphalt Spike

  1. Drill a 10mm masonry pilot hole through the wheel stop and into the base course.

  2. Use a dumpy or sledgehammer to drive the 12mm asphalt pin through the wheel stop into the base course.


 

Concrete Surfaces

  1. Position the wheel stop according to the standards above.

  2. Use our 150mm x 12mm concrete screw bolts or M16 x 145mm Dynabolts (three fixings per wheel stop).

  1. Drill a 16mm or 12mm masonry hole based on your selected fixing.

  2. Clear dust from the hole.

  3. Tap in the M16 Dynabolt and tighten, or screw in the M12 screw bolt and tighten until secure.


Paved Surfaces

  1. Set out the wheel stop according to the standards above.

  2. Use our 300mm x 12mm galvanised asphalt spikes (three fixings per wheel stop).

  1. Drill a 12mm hole to 220mm deep through the paver.

  2. Use a dumpy or sledgehammer to drive the 12mm asphalt pin through the wheel stop, down through the paver, and into the base course.
